April Evening Yoga Challenge

Whether you are a beginner looking to start your yoga journey or an advanced yogi looking for a new challenge, Yoga with Kassandra created a 30 Days Evening Yoga Challenge that aims to promote relaxation before bed and quality sleep. The walkthrough of the program is simple for beginners and advanced individuals alike. Kassandra instructs with clear, slow instructions to guide participants through meditation and yoga practices to help you de-stress from your busy week/day.

For each day in April, you can follow Yoga with Kassandra on her website or YouTube channel to participate in the challenge in your own free time, in the comforts of your own home. Some videos can be expected to be under 15 minutes, simple stretches, or a quick guided mediation, and some videos can be expected to last up to 50 minutes, including the yin yoga practices. Yin yoga is designed as an endurance and stretching practice that incorporates long breaths and holds for each pose, for up to 3-5 minutes at a time.

Prepare your space before each practice.

Before engaging in a yoga practice that aims to challenge your body and mind to relax, declutter a safe, quiet, private area in your home or office to create a calming, distraction-free environment.

  • Dim the lights, especially any over-head ceiling lights or harsh lamp lights that will shine towards your direction

  • Remove extra furniture and clutter from your room. This is also a safety precaution as you will be moving around.

  • Turn off your devices and silence notification for the duration of your practice. Distractions also include household individuals so set aside time in your schedule and remind others not to bother you during the allotted time.

  • Create a calming ambiance by closing, drawing the blinds, lighting candles or a scented diffuser

  • Set out any props such as your yoga mat, blocks, blankets, and stretching bands

Lastly, enjoy your practice and give your body/mind the rest and care it deserves each time you set foot on the mat.
